Dominique Denis

Art · Architecture · Research · Curatorial Practice

Dominique Denis is an architectural designer, artist, curator, and public art strategist whose interdisciplinary practice brings together art, architecture, and research. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in architecture, urban planning, and public art, her work explores the relationships between people, place, identity, and the built environment.

Her creative practice centers on themes of nostalgia, identity, transformation, and belonging, explored through exhibitions, artmaking, and design experimentation. Her work as a public art curator has deepened her interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration and community engagement, informing both her artistic and curatorial practice.

Denis' research examines the relationship between collective memory and the built environment. Her investigations have taken her to Charleston, South Carolina; London, England; and Accra, Ghana. Her current research explores how artists adapt their studios to support the realities of their creative practices, and what those adaptations might reveal about architectural programming.

Denis has worked with architectural firms in the New York metropolitan area and South Florida. Her curatorial work was recognized by The Architect's Newspaper in its 2021 “What to See” feature. She was an artist-in-residence at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach from 2022 to 2026.

She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of the City University of New York and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University.
